The Anniston Star reports on the fight among Florida, Georgia, and Alabama over water. Last week, a federal judge refused Florida's request to release more water from a Georgia dam.

The Tampa Tribune reports about 1-800-ASK-GARY, a service for auto accident victims. The Tribune reports that the hotline has a close relationship to a Tampa law firm, Winters & Yonker. According to the Tribune, "The lawsuits are in Kentucky, but are reverberating around Florida's personal injury law, chiropractic and accident treatment industries."

Race and the judiciary

Race and the selection of judges remains a hot story.

Marva Wiley asks in the Daily Business Review why there are no black women on Florida's Federal Judicial Nominating Commission. And Inside Track reports on an awkward moment at a Broward judicial forum where Circuit Judge Carlos Rebollo quoted the Herald's suggestion that minority judges in Broward are being targeted.

A new blog

Welcome to a new blog, Florida Law.

Other Florida blawgs do a good job of covering some of the people and personalities of the legal profession in South Florida. Some are listed on the right-hand column.

But there is no general-interest blog devoted to the law itself.

I anticipate that most of the posting will be without opinion, and without snark. My goal is to provide a quick way that Florida lawyers can keep up-to-date on Florida law.
